Key reports from the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC) meeting in Brussels

The Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC) met in Brussels on 19 March. (AHLC) meets twice a year and was this month hosted by EU High Representative Catherine Ashton and chaired by Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide.

Below you`ll find the key reports from the meeting. This includes reports from the Palestinian Government, the Quartet (two reports),UNSCO, the World Bank and the IMF.

Three of the reports presented at the meeting contain a number of references to demolitions, displacement and dispossession of the Palestinian civilian population (the Palestinian Government, Quartet and the UNSCO reports). For example, in their report, the Palestinian government requests the international community to assist with bringing demolitions and dispossession of Palestinians in Area C to an end and to facilitate the development of master plans for Area C communities). In their report, the Office of the Quartet Representative commits to continue to advocate for an effective moratorium on demolitions and for a transparent framework for community-driven master plans in Area C, as well as for the approval of plans and permits in East Jerusalem. Finally, the UNSCO report  expresses particular concern over demolitions in both Area C and in East Jerusalem

The AHLC will next meet in New York in September 2013.
