30 March 1976 is a defining moment in Palestinian collective memory. On that day, fifty years ago, six unarmed Palestinians were killed and over 100 were injured during protests against Israel’s land confiscations.
Most recently, on February 8, 2026, Israel’s security cabinet approved a series of sweeping measures to expand its powers across the occupied West Bank, including easing the sale of Palestinian land to Israeli settlers and expanding the powers of Israeli authorities in areas under Palestinian control.
Whereas the 30th of march is a day to remember the killing of Palestinians in 1976 by Israeli brutality because they protested their land appropriation, it is also a day to highlight the historical and ongoing massive Israeli land appropriations as one tool to implement the settler colonial project. Land Day further serves to remind the world that the Israeli denial and suppression of Palestinian resistance and their right to self-determination is a policy intended to squash the Palestinian people’s will and dominate them to expand Israel’s settler colonialism.
We honor the resilience of the Palestinian people, who since decades have faced brutal land confiscations, violent dispossession, systemic oppression and genocide.
To commemorate this day and honour Palestinian resilience our members organised some actions in European cities. You can check the list of actions on the map here.
